The **NEM GoMEn** (Net Energy Metering Government Ministries and Entities) concept allows energy produced from solar PV installations on government premises to be used for self-consumption first. Any surplus energy generated will be exported to the TNB grid, with the corresponding credits offsetting part of the electricity bill on a "one-on-one" basis for up to ten (10) years.
NEM consumers prioritize self-consumption, reducing the need to import energy from the utility. This program serves as a hedge against future fluctuations or increases in electricity tariffs, especially for consumers in higher tariff blocks.
Excess energy generated is exported to the grid and credited on a "one-on-one" basis. While self-consumption is the priority, premises that are inactive during weekends or public holidays may export surplus energy. The credits for exported energy can be carried forward for up to 12 months.
